CastReader is an independent reading tool for listening to supported text and understanding difficult passages while keeping the source visible. It is available through mobile apps, browser extensions, and selected web workflows.

- Natural voice playback with highlighting, auto-scroll, background playback, lock-screen controls, or resume progress where the selected surface supports them

- Overview, Standard, or Deep explanation that stays anchored to the source; explanations can use the reader's preferred language
- Voice languages
- As of July 13, 2026, catalog version 2026-07-13.en31-zh100-multi18-photo-r2 has 149 selectable voices with samples: 12 Free and 137 Pro. English and Mandarin are GA; six other languages are Beta/Lab
- Private voice cloning — Coming soon
- Not available in the public CastReader experience yet. The planned release is consent-based, account-scoped, encrypted, deletable, and excluded from the public catalog

Is CastReader only a Chrome extension?
No. CastReader has official iPhone and Android apps, a Chrome or Edge browser extension workflow, and selected web account and document workflows. The best surface depends on where the content lives.
Does one account work across platforms?
Use the same login email to keep CastReader Pro entitlement aligned across supported surfaces. Do not assume every file, library item, or reading position syncs everywhere; content and progress availability vary by workflow.
How does free access differ from CastReader Pro?
No. CastReader is free to start with daily allowances. Pro provides higher usage limits and additional voice and explanation access. The pricing page is the authority for current limits and prices.
Does CastReader support every website and file?
No reading tool can guarantee every source. CastReader supports selected webpages and common document workflows, but availability depends on source access, page structure, DRM, file format, extraction quality, and platform changes.

How is user content handled?
