Voices marked free need no payment. Over a long book, the voice decides whether you keep listening more than any feature list does.
LISTEN BEFORE YOU CHOOSE
These 283 voices come directly from the same versioned catalog consumed by the iOS and Android apps. Search by name, accent, use case, or tone, then listen to the real sample before choosing it in CastReader.

Catalog version and availability can change as voices pass quality review. GA means the language workflow is production-ready; Beta and Lab languages are not presented as equivalent to GA. Private cloned voices never appear in this public catalog.
Choose what you need to read and compare a short list first. These suggestions use the catalog's reviewed descriptions and best-for labels; they are a starting point, not a claim that one voice suits everyone.
Listen to a full sample before deciding. Comfort over a long session matters more than a dramatic opening sentence.

BROWSE BY VOICE LANGUAGE
Each guide keeps one language's real samples, quality status, pronunciation checks, and long-form reading guidance together. New voices flow in from the live catalog without creating a new SEO page for every voice.

VOICE SHOULD MATCH THE READING JOB
A five-second demo can sound impressive. A useful reading voice must stay clear and comfortable across chapters, formulas, arguments, and long sessions.
Use measured, grounded voices for chapters and long listening sessions, with progress, highlighting, and background playback preserved.
See the reading workflowChoose clear voices that make terminology easier to follow, then switch to Read & Explain when pronunciation alone is not enough.
See the reading workflowKeep the selected voice across PDFs, EPUBs, DOCX files, pasted text, and supported browser pages instead of exporting disconnected clips.
See the reading workflowUse a voice that matches the source language, while CastReader can explain difficult passages in a language you understand.

CastReader is preparing a private voice-cloning workflow for personal reading. The feature is not available in the public CastReader experience yet, and no current plan or download should be treated as access to it.
Not live yet. The public reading apps currently offer the preset voices in the library above; personal voice cloning will be announced separately when it is ready.
The planned launch is designed to require an authenticated account, explicit owner-consent confirmation, and the appropriate entitlement. Reference audio will be encrypted at rest, users will be able to delete their voice, and personal clones will never become public SEO pages.
At launch, voice creation will be tied to an authenticated account rather than an anonymous device.
The planned flow uses a clean 3–30 second WAV or FLAC reference with no music, echo, or additional speakers.
A voice may be created only when the user owns it or has the required rights and explicit consent.
The planned account-scoped workflow will let the owner preview, use, or remove the private reading voice.
The prepared contract includes a limit of one successful creation per user in a rolling 24-hour period.
CastReader does not ask you to generate a clip, download it, and manually find your place again. The voice runs inside a reading workflow with the original text, synchronized highlighting, auto-scroll, progress, background playback, and explanations for difficult passages.
Voice generators produce audio. CastReader uses a voice to help you finish and understand what you already need to read.
For advertising, dubbing, podcast production, or a public voice marketplace, use a dedicated creator platform. CastReader is designed for personal reading across books, documents, and supported pages.
The live catalog currently contains 283 evaluated entries, with 283 voices selectable and previewable in the public reading catalog. Availability changes as voices pass quality review. Visit the download center for supported clients.
Yes. Every voice shown in this public catalog has a real audio sample. The mobile voice browser also supports search, filters, favorites, recent voices, and recommended voices.
Not yet. Personal voice cloning is coming soon and is not available in the public CastReader experience today. When it launches, the Voice Hub will publish the current access, consent, and privacy requirements.
The feature is not live yet. Its planned safety boundary does not allow creating a voice without the required ownership, rights, and explicit consent. CastReader is designing it for consent-based personal reading, not impersonation.
No public cloning feature is live today. The planned design keeps personal voices private to the authenticated account and excludes them from the public catalog and public indexing. See the privacy policy for the current pre-release data-handling boundary.
The live catalog currently includes 9 languages. English and Mandarin are GA. Japanese, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, and Hindi are Beta or Lab workflows, so availability and synchronization quality vary. The language selector above shows current status and voice count directly from the catalog.
Choose for sustained clarity rather than a dramatic first sentence. Measured and grounded voices often work well for books; clear, balanced voices suit papers and documents. Use Read & Explain when the difficulty is meaning rather than pronunciation.
No. Voice selection is part of the CastReader reading workflow, alongside highlighting, auto-scroll, background playback, and resume progress. Explore the mobile Kindle reading experience.
Use the same reading workflow on your phone or supported browser pages. Voice availability can vary by platform and app version.
