Choose by where the content lives

The apps share a product and Pro entitlement, but each surface solves a different extraction and listening problem. Start with the one that matches your source.

Listen to Kindle books on my phone

iOS or Android

The mobile app is designed for a phone-first Kindle bookshelf, highlighting, background playback, and long listening sessions.

Read a webpage, Google Doc, or AI answer in place

Browser extension

The extension works where the page is rendered and can preserve in-page extraction and highlighting on supported sources.

Open a PDF, DOCX, EPUB, image, or copied text

Mobile or upload workflow

Use a document-friendly surface instead of forcing a local file through an ordinary webpage reader.

Use Pro on more than one supported surface

Same login email

Pro entitlement follows the login email. File libraries and reading progress can still vary by workflow and are not promised as universal sync.

One account across browser and mobile

Sign in with the same email to keep your CastReader Pro status aligned across supported surfaces. Anonymous device allowances do not become a synced Pro account, and content or progress availability can vary by workflow.

Download FAQ

Which CastReader app should I install first?

If your main goal is listening to Kindle books on your phone, start with the iOS or Android app. If your reading happens in websites such as Google Docs, Claude, ChatGPT, or Kindle Cloud Reader, install the extension for Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.

Is CastReader available on Android?

Yes. CastReader is available on Google Play for Android and supports mobile read-aloud workflows such as Kindle listening, highlighting, background playback, and AI explanations.

Do I need both the mobile app and browser extension?

Not always. Use the mobile app for phone-first reading and use the extension for browser pages that need in-page extraction and highlighting. Many users install both because they read across devices.

Is CastReader affiliated with Amazon or Kindle?

No. CastReader is not affiliated with Amazon or Kindle. Amazon and Kindle are trademarks of Amazon.com, Inc. or its affiliates.

Can I listen to the voices before installing?

Yes. The CastReader reading voice library uses the same versioned public catalog as supported mobile clients and includes real samples, language status, Free or Pro tier, plus the Coming soon status of private voice cloning.
