Successful cloned audio shares the 120-minute membership-month allowance. Every signed-in Free and Pro member can create multiple voices and play their server-set fixed previews, but applying one to a book requires Pro. CastReader does not import DRM-protected Kindle purchases or bypass access controls.

A familiar voice can change how a long book feels
For personal listening, the useful result is often not a publishable audiobook file. It is a readable document with synchronized playback in a familiar voice. CastReader keeps the book and listening session together instead of forcing an export first.
A familiar voice can make repetition and long stretches of listening feel less mechanical. You can still see the source, return to a paragraph, and use sound as support instead of replacing the reading experience.
This page is for personal listening. Authors who need reviewable WAV parts can use the separate audiobook creation workflow, where production limits and responsibilities are explained directly.
CastReader only accepts content you are authorized to process. DRM-protected Kindle purchases are not file-import sources for this workflow, and the product does not remove DRM or paywalls.

Can CastReader read a Kindle book in my cloned voice?
Not by importing a DRM-protected Kindle purchase. CastReader does not bypass DRM. The current cloned-voice book workflow is the local web file reader for authorized DRM-free files; see the separate Kindle reading boundary for supported Kindle workflows.
Can I turn this personal listening session into an audiobook?
Personal listening keeps the document visible in the reader. Authors who need reviewable WAV parts should use the separate audiobook creation workflow. CastReader does not promise one-click commercial audiobook production.
Does CastReader upload my original book file?
The local web reader parses the original file in your browser. Text for a cloned-voice generation request is sent to the production speech service only when you ask it to synthesize that selected text.
Can a Voice Gift read my document?
Yes. After you accept a valid, unexpired Voice Gift, it appears under Shared with me in the web document voice picker. Access is rechecked for every synthesis and ends on expiry, revocation, recipient removal, or deletion of the source voice.
Can I publish the WAV commercially?
A generated file does not create rights you do not already have. Check the text rights, the voice consent, CastReader’s current plan terms, disclosure duties, and the publisher or distributor requirements before public or commercial use.
